About the Designer:

Alek Surenian is a designer from Chicago who specializes in the fields of footwear, soft goods, and apparel design. From a young age, his creative background has been heavily influenced by his Armenian identity. Through activism in his Armenian community and youth group, he uses his skills to celebrate aspects of Armenian culture, and as a tool for political activism. In his professional experience, he has worked at various brands such as Clarks, Puma, Timberland, and a non-profit organization in Armenia called Homeland Development Initiative Foundation.
